Grandad came over with his bike, Owen and I got our bikes out too and after waving goodbye to mummy the three of us set off for the duck pond at about 2.15. We rode there and back - it was about 1.5 miles in all.

Owen then stayed at home while me and Grandad set off for a longer ride. It was back to just past the railway station then we turned right onto the off-road footpath through the fields. It was a bit bumpy and slow.

A bit further on we came to a stony track where Grandad got a puncture and had to take the back wheel off his bike to fix it. I helped by pumping the tyre up.

When the puncture was fixed we carried on but Grandad fell off his bike when his shoelace got caught in his pedal. He was alright though. A bit further on we came to a bridleway which was much easier to ride along. Grandad had told mummy we'd be back by 5.00 but we weren't - he had to ring mummy up and let her know we might be home by 6.00. Mummy was worried it might be getting dark by then but in the end everything was fine and we got home by about 5.45.
Including the ride to the Duck Pond I cycled 9.9 miles today.
